Katherine started her artistic career in newspaper layout and design. From there she went on to publishing and did layout and cover design for Prentice Hall Publishers. After marrying a sailor, publishing was left behind and Katherine turned solely to painting.

She has studied water color as well as oils and acrylics. Katherine was a student of Charles Kello at the Charles Kello Academy of Traditional Oil Painting. She has attended Skidmore College to study Interior Design and has completed a Master Artist course.

Katherine is a member of the Poland Spring Art Show Committee, the Poland Spring Preservation Society, Boothbay Region Art Foundation, the Western Maine Art Group and the National Audobon Society.

Katherine's art is on display, and available for purchase from The painted Mermaid Art Gallery in So. Paris, Maine, the Framer's Workshop and Fine Art Gallery in Wells, Maine, The Nettie Ricker Gallery in Poland Spring, Maine, the Charles Kello Gallery in Norfolk, Virginia and the Harvest Hills Farm Store on Baker's Town Rd.
